The Cyclops

So, this morning in English, we were reading about the story of the cyclops in The Odyssey.  I'm not a fan of all the mythology crap, but I learned something interesting today.  The ancient Greeks or whoever they are in that time, were supposed to treat strangers like guests.  When a random person came and knocked on their door, they were supposed to invite them in and be kind, as if the people were gods in disguise.  Now, I don't believe in "gods in disguise"....but I think their beliefs and actions SHOULD be similar to our own in this case.  "Whatever you do to the least of these, you do to me."  Sound familiar??  Yeah, Jesus said that if you weren't aware.  So, just like the Greeks did for strangers and their gods....we are supposed to do that to EVERYONE.  We are supposed to treat them ALL as if they are Jesus.  That is hard.  Very hard.  But it is something to think about....so yeah.  :)
